Title: Lead QA Tester
Duration: 12-15+ months
Location: Bridgewater, NJ
Must have Pharma experience
Managers notes:
The person must be able to write complex sql statements in their sleep
(including multiple table joins, minuses, etc.) They also must be able to look
at a database schema and figure out what table to find specific data
- They must have experience in testing data migrations (not an upgrade
from Oracle 9 to Oracle 10 - not a database change (sql server to oracle) - but
migrating data from 2 (or more) different sources together into a 3rd schema.
This involves testing transformation rules such as "if source db A has field 1
= < 99 and field 2 not empty and field 3 not empty then target db field 47 will
contain data from field 2 + data from field 3" - it also involves testing
stored procedures
- They must also have experience in analyzing the data in the source
databases to determine relevant samples for testing (how to categorize/group
data to provide as much coverage as possible with as few records as possible)
- there are millions and millions of rows, so can't test every row. The
candidate should be able to give good examples of how they did this - a simple
example would be looking a the last name field in the database to find the min
length, max length, special characters (ie hypen, is a suffix added in this
field such as jr., sr. ,II, or title, PhD or is that info in another field) so
as a min you would want to test the record with the shortest name, the longest
name and names with special characters)
- Since this is all backend testing (there is no front-end) they must have
some good ideas for how to document test results for FDA validation when they
are just looking at data from the data base
What is needed:
Manual Testers
Strong backend Database testing experience
Data Migration testing experience (not experience testing DB upgrades, but
actually testing data that is being migrated from different
locations/applications, as this is testing data resulting from the Pfizer-Wyeth
merger, so the ideal candidate would come out of a Data Migration testing team.
Testing experience using complex SQL code to do DB queries
