Title: * Continuous Integration Developer Testing Specialist *





*Overview:*



*Responsibility for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the
software development practices.**
Initiating and managing projects to maximize efficiency in key areas.
Establishing metrics necessary to identify these initiatives and to measure
their effectiveness.
In 2011 a key focus of the DEI program will be to support the adoption of
continuous integration and testing technologies and practices within the
Investment Bank development groups. *





*Role  Objectives:*



*The DEI team is looking for a **subject matter expert (SME) in Continuous
Integration and Unit Testing practices to:*



*Support the ongoing adoption of efficient, modernised development practices
by the application development teams**
Help shape the strategy for continuous improvement in development and
developer testing approach.*






*Project Deliverables:*



*Assessing the maturity level of the application development teams’ current
practices, and identifying areas for improvement**
Partnering with application development teams to plan the adoption of
modernised development practices and tooling
Working with the development team to assess and advise on the application’s
modular architecture
Advising on developer test strategies and developing indicative/sample tests
Working with build and configuration specialists to follow through to
implementation*




*Coaching the application development team on:*



*Core CI practices **
Development style, patterns and practices
Unit and integration test practices
Documenting advice, samples and how-to documents for a technical audience
Measuring the success of adoption and following through with remediation
steps as needed*





*Anticipated Volume:*



*Approximately 200 IB apps (over a 2 year program)  **
Approximately 20 FLEX apps, *





*Skills and Experience:*



*Development background**
Extensive experience in a technical leadership role - mentoring / coaching
less experienced staff
Extensive experience in the practical application of Continuous Integration
techniques
Strong Flex SDK and ActionScript skills
Solid OO background - core principles and concepts, patterns, refactoring
Strong unit testing and/or TDD skills
Strong knowledge of structural / modular aspects of application design
Track record in implementing improvements in development practices
Good working knowledge of UML modelling and tools
Experience in working with vendor-outsourced development teams
Knowledge of code quality tools and metrics*





*Languages:*



*ActionScript and Flex SDK**
Any of Java, C#, T-SQL, PL/SQL, C++ or Python would also be advantageous.*





*Technologies / Tools:*



*Maven and FlexMojos plugins**
Unit testing using AsUnit and/or FlexUnit
Use of mocking frameworks such as mock4as
Use of tools for code quality inspection such as FlexPMD or the Sonar Flex
Plugin*





*Build and CI:*



*SCM systems –Subversion, Clearcase**
CI build tools –Jenkins ideally*
