Please reply at chris.br...@panzersolutions.com Position : SQL DBA Location : SAINT CHARLES, MO Duration : Contract to hire Must Haves: The overall responsibility of this position is for the analysis, maintenance and support of SQL database systems for business systems using full lifecycle methodologies, relational databases and management technologies. This position reports to our Director of IT Operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Installation and configuration of SQL 2000, 2005, and 2008 database product versions in Windows (2003/2008) 32 & 64bit environments. SQL Database Administration, configuration, load balancing, backup/recover, sizing and space management, SQL and PL/SQL tuning, diagnostics, using SQL Enterprise Manager Tools. Support of multiple environments that require some off-hour maintenance activities. Job Requirements: Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field. At least 5 years of experience as a SQL DBA, which encompasses installing, upgrading, and supporting SQL database software and the associated SQL Technology stack in a multi-tier environment including: database server, applications server, web server, reports server, forms server, admin server, and discoverer server environment. Experience configuring and maintaining SQL Server clusters. Strong interpersonal, communication, and client-facing skills. Ability to demonstrate confidence and fosters a “Trusted Advisor” relationship with the client. Strong analytical, reasoning, and organizational and project task management skills. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously; attention to detail, and follow through including documentation. Understanding the architecture of SQL instance and database components. Server and application sizing and capacity planning. Server and application tuning for performance and scalability. Understanding of High Availability and Disaster Recovery requirements and solutions. Understanding network topology concept and troubleshooting for SQL databases and applications. Database backup and recovery. Shell scripting. Database administration on Windows 2003 and 2008 Enterprise. Installation of SQL RDBMS, application server and sqlnet client. Application design, management, and development of relational databases skills particularly using SQL database. Knowledge of current and emerging technologies for use in database systems.
