The Server Services Group performs hardware system staging for Windows
and Linux(SUSE/SLES) environments and interfaces directly with the Datacenter
Infrastructure, Enterprise Technology Production Assurance, and Networking
departments. Group responsibilities include:
• Manages the server fleet – installs patches, installs device drivers,
installs third party software, and configures network interfaces, Trouble
shoots and implement scripts on SLES Linux.
• Performs hardware troubleshooting, opens trouble tickets and change
controls, and schedules hardware repairs / service calls
• Responsible for software migrations including file and print systems on
SLES• Responsible for the configuration, testing, implementation, and
troubleshooting of SLES Linux systems – including web services, FTP services,
Clustering, NFS, and DNS
• Coordinates Production environment changes with the Technology
Operations Command Center (TOCC) in order to maintain a stable production
environment
The candidate that we are looking for would have a specialized focus on
SLES/Linux systems and security.
The Candidate should also have a strong foundation with Novell Netware 6
and be able to support Clustering, NFS, and have experience in supporting Open
Enterprise System SP3 on SLES 10.
