Position : SQL Developer Location: New Haven,CT Duration: 6+ Months Contract NO H1B This position implements and supports both custom and third-party application solutions which provide administrative support for the our clients research mission. This position is focused on developing, implementing and supporting applications, but also participates in the full application development lifecycle. 1. Experience implementing vendor solutions. 2. Expertise with Relational Databases (Oracle databases, SQL Server 2005/2008) and other databases like MS Access. Ability to write SQL Scripts and Queries 3. Familiar with consuming Web Services and WSDLs 4. Understanding of Visual FoxPro 5. Advanced Excel, VBA scripting skills 6. Experience with Windows 2003/2008 server architecture, understanding of windows permissions, active directory 7. Experience with SQL server's Enterprise Manager (DTS & SSIS, SQL Query Manager including Transact SQL) 8. Familiar with flat file management techniques and file transfer techniques (FTP) 9. Experience with general Web architecture, such as browsers and middle tier. 10. Experience with version control systems such as SVN. 11. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team, including the ability to work with people from all levels of an organization. 12. Excellent oral and written communication skills. 13. Excellent organization skills, specifically with assigned tasks and use of time. 14. Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills. 15. Working knowledge of SDLC processes including requirements gathering, design, build, and test. 16. Must be a fast learner with a strong desire and motivation to learn new technologies, Yale and the higher education environment. 17. Preferred Previous experience working in Research Administration application support areas, specifically Animal Care support area. 18. Preferred - Understanding of .NET framework (ASP.NET, VB.NET), MVC, C#, C++ solution building. 19.
