These Engineers will not simply be testing the devices, but will need to be able to decode, understand, and explain the findings and reasons for failures and propose solutions to the development team. The majority will be testing and verifying GCF and 3G PT, as well as sale and protocol interactions. It will be a mixture of European base stations with 3G standards. This means that there will be specific physical interactions to prompt the device to connect to the network. Each resource must have previous experience in 2g and 3g networking and 4g experience is strongly preferred; as well as a deep understanding of UMTS/WCDMA air interfaces. The 2G/3G/4G protocol stack in depth knowledge is an absolute must.
