*Business Architect *
*Location: Hartford, CTDuration: 6+ Months*
Develops the business architecture practice using industry-proven
methodologies; mentors and coaches business architects to ensure
conformance and consistency. Develops business architecture strategy based
on business goals and scenarios. Develops business architectures using
proven methodologies (e.g., capability models) to describe the primary
business functions of the enterprise and distinguish between
customer-facing, supplier-related, business execution and business
management functions. Documents relationships among roles, capabilities and
business units. Defines strategic, core and support processes that
transcend organizational boundaries. Develops and promotes adoption of
architecture guidance (e.g., standards, best practices, etc.) in
cooperation with Munich RE counterparts. Translates strategic and tactical
enterprise goals and into measurable business objectives actionable by IT
architects. Partners with Lead Data Architect to define data shared across
the enterprise and the relationships between those data. Partners with Lead
IT architects to ensure that technical architectures/solutions meet
EDUCATION Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. Graduate degree
(No. of years) 7+ years of business architecture experience 10+ years of
business architecture experience including 2+ years of insurance industry
experience or work with insurance systems. Large-scale transformation
CERTIFICATIONS / DESIGNATIONS /
SPECIALIZED TRAINING /
LICENSES Strong working knowledge of business architecture best practices,
methods and models. Certification in one or more architecture
methodologies (TOGAF, Zachmann, Gartner). Certification in business
architecture by BACOE, TOG or similar.
TECHNICAL SKILLS Strong understanding of business architecture concepts
and methodologies. Strong working knowledge of ACORD. Proficiency in BPMN.
Working knowledge of enterprise architecture tools (e.g, Mega, Troux or
NON-TECHNICAL SKILLS Strong skills in leadership, managing through
influence, relationship management, communication, presentation, and
mentoring/coaching. Ability to meet and coordinate multiple tasks and tight
Ability to function as a team member and work with many different
stakeholders at all levels Highly adaptive interpersonal skills.
