*Role: Hadoop Admin* *Location: San Jose, CA* *Duration: 6+Months* *NOTE:- Locals Preferred* *Responsibilities* - Own and manage several Hadoop clusters and other services of Hadoop Ecosystem in development and production environments - Work closely with engineering teams and participate in the infrastructure development and framework development - as required - Automate deployment and management of Hadoop services including implementing monitoring - Contribute to the evolving architecture of our services to meet changing requirements for scaling, reliability, performance, manageability, and price - Capacity planning of Hadoop clusters based on application requirement Hadoop Admin - Implementation and ongoing administration of Hadoop infrastructure - Hadoop cluster maintenance like adding or removing nodes using cluster managers like Ambari / Cloudera Manager - Performance tuning of Hadoop clusters and capacity planning - Monitor Hadoop cluster connectivity and security - Manage and review Hadoop log files - File system management and monitoring - HDFS support and maintenance - Install operating system (Linux Redhat/CentOS) and Hadoop updates, patches, version upgrades - Manage Hadoop users which includes setting up Linux users, setting up Kerberos principals and testing HDFS, Hive, Pig and MapReduce access for the new users *Required Experience* - Overall 8 years of experience as System Administrators and 4+ years as Hadoop Administrator• - Knowledge of capacity planning, management, cluster operations - Experience monitoring, troubleshooting and tuning services and applications - Familiarity with use of standard Hadoop ecosystem features and applications such as MapReduce, HBase, and Hive. - Experience running and troubleshooting Java applications.
