*Role: MySQL DBA Developer *
*Location: West Valley City, UT*
*Duration: 6 Months (Contract To Hire )*
*Responsibilities for this position:*
- Ensure performance, Scalability, security, and availability of MySQL
databases
- Prepare documentation, best practices, and specifications
- Work as an expert on MySQL implementation and design
- Profile server resource usage, optimize and tweak as necessary
- Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders
- Provide guidance and expertise on tuning MySQL implementation
- Help engineering teams migrate from Oracle to MySQL
*Skills needed to perform these daily responsibilities:*
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git / SVN
- E/R Diagraming tools
- MySQL Workbench
*Mandatory Skills:*
- Strong proficiency in MySQL database management, minimum 5 years
- Experience with recent versions of MySQL
- Understanding of MySQL’s underlying storage engines, such as InnoDB
and RocksDB
- Experience with replication configuration in MySQL
- Knowledge of de-facto standards and best practices in MySQL
- Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL statements
- Knowledge of MySQL features, such as its event scheduler
- Experience on architecting and designing MySQL databases
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
- Knowledge of limitations in MySQL and their workarounds in contrast to
other popular relational databases
*Good to have skills:*
- Experience and understanding of Oracle
