*Job Description*



Administers the day-to-day IT operations and acts as the subject matter
expert for the hospice systems (eg.Suncoast, Solutions, CareFusion).
Identifies opportunities for system enhancements; plans and manages the
implementation of new system features.  Coordinates with client Provider
Services and Education departments on development and delivery of
new/updated system training modules; provides technical, operational and
project management support to Hospice teams.  Works under general
supervision.





Responsibilities

·         Provides second-level support for Hospice information systems
which includes troubleshooting, resolving and documenting solutions for
system issues; distinguishing between break-fix and education
opportunities, assigning support requests to clinical education as
appropriate; developing and distributing “best practice” bulletins; and
providing training to staff and management on effective use of systems.



·         Participates in Client data warehouse and custom interface
projects and trains staff and management on running reports.  Designs,
builds and maintains daily reporting dashboard for Hospice leadership.



·         Ensures system operations comply with contractual agreements, CMS
standards and DOH regulations. Manages clinical re-design of SunCoast for
new policies, procedures and regulation.



·         Monitors and participates in vendor-managed client support forum;
receives announcements, performs impact analyses for Hospice system updates
and upgrades; and develops and executes testing, implementation,
communication, and contingency plans.



·         Maintains Hospice systems administration policy and procedures;
develops and delivers training modules for administrative users; supports
clinical education team in development and delivery of clinical training
modules; and provides on-site technical support at instructor-led training
classes as needed.



·         Prepares analysis of business operations process reviews;
collaborates with various internal and external resources to identify,
develop, and implement technical solutions and/or system enhancements that
will create efficiencies in aforementioned business operations workflows.



·         Analyzes maintenance of “system hygiene”, and develops, documents
and executes plans to optimize system settings and performance.



·         Provides clinical help-desk support for field staff.  Acts as
first level support and resolves questions and troubleshoots issues for all
Hospice system users.





Manages IT QA, Hospice IS and other User Acceptance Testing for system
upgrades and other technology changes, compiles documentation of testing
results and delivers testing documentation and analysis to relevant parties.

Supervises installation of EMR vendor software in the test and production
environments.

Collaborates with corporate IT to document and monitor appropriate system
access rights, and to establish appropriate client-server architecture for
system users.

Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.





Qualifications

*Education:*   Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Business or other
related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education and work
experience required.



*Experience:*  Minimum of five years of experience in the IT or business
operations, preferably in a Hospice or health care organization, required.
Experience developing and maintaining third party software company/vendor
relationships required.  Knowledge and understanding of problem tracking
and escalation process required.  Prior experience working with Sun Coast
system or other third party software preferred. Intermediate to advanced
level knowledge of relational database systems (able to navigate EMR schema
with ease) required.  Ability to leverage Micro Soft Access and Crystal
Reports or equivalent required.  Demonstrated strong analytical skills,
including problem solving and troubleshooting, and the ability to apply
technology to clinical environment required.  Ability to manage multiple
projects concurrently required.  Ability to converse with both technical
and non-technical staff required.
