Title: *Systems Analyst* Location: Encino, CA Duration : 6+ Months *Job Description* Seeking one (1) additional contract Systems Analyst to join from now until the end of January 2016 (although it’s possible the contract may be extended). Very specifically, need help creating data transformation mapping documents, connections to carrier quote web services (APIs) and XSLT (XML transformation files). Below is the description of the position. As in the past, my highest priorities will be § Local candidates § P&C Insurance analyst experience (deep industry knowledge and experience) § XML (as ALL of our work relates to documents in this form) § ACORD XML (this is the insurance industry standard to which we adhere) § XSD (definition documentation) § XSLT (transformation instruction sets) § An XML Transformation tool: Stylus Studio (or CloverETL, MapForce, IBM ITX, BizTalk, etc.) § EDI data transformation mapping and implementation experience (may serve as a proxy for XML/XSLT experience) § Background in consulting, especially data transformation software implementations § Excellent communication skills are required for working with directly with our carriers Ideal candidates would have § A deep understanding of Property and Casualty (P&C) insurance quoting, especially property insurance forms (HO-3, HO-4, HO-6, DP3, etc.) § Worked on a collaborative software development team in a agile environment § Created design documents and maintained design artifacts o Created spreadsheets that document the mapping of source data values to target data values (documenting the required data transformations) o Demonstrated proficiency with the ACORD standards used for personal lines insurance o Worked hands-on with XML and XSLT to deliver design requirements § Experience in developing real-time data transfer mechanisms using various data formats (XML, JSON, etc.) o Worked with property and casualty insurance companies in the exchange of information for quoting and binding purposes § Extensive understanding of transforming XML files o Understanding of XSD o Experience with creating the XSLT used in data transformations § Experience with web scripting (screen scraping) technologies to facilitate data exchange when API interfaces are unavailable o Developed design documents that describe the transformation of source data to the target web site to be screen scraped § Experience with EDI tools for data transformation, such as: o Stylus Studio Alternative tools with which experience is desired § CloverETL § Altova MapForce § IBM ITX or IBM Sterling Gentran tools § Microsoft BizTalk § Skill in a coding language used in XSLT translations such as C# or Java § An understanding of data exchange using JSON § Supported the planning, conduct, and review of module and integration testing § Experience with automated testing, especially using SoapUI for API testing § Worked with software quality assurance teams in identifying root cause of issues § Participated in researching technical questions and resolving reported issues from a technical standpoint § Experience researching vendor products and suggesting uses or improvements to the business Systems Analyst (1) § Seeking a Systems Analyst to create data transformation instructions. § We are in the process of integrating personal lines property insurance carriers into our quote engine. § Client’s engine receives quote requests in various formats and must transform the requests to match individual carrier requirements. § Systems Analysts work with partners and carriers to create the requirements (i.e., source-target mappings) for these transformations. § The Systems Analyst develops the transformation XSLT files, creates sample XML files and tests the data transformations. § Systems Analysts may also create high-level technical designs for business improvement, software integration, and maintenance projects by analyzing requirements, systems architecture, and collaborating with technology partners.
