Title: Technical Consultant: Security Analyst
Location: Sacramento, CA
Job type: Full-Time, Exempt
Reports to: Project Manager
I. Summary
Responsible for the oversight of all layers of data security. They develop
processes and ensure compliance with all applicable security standards such as
HIPAA, PCI, PHI, PII and monitor the organization in its adherence to the
policies. This position is located in Sacramento, California.
II. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Work with the Technical Solution Lead to analyze security specifications and
translate security requirements to task specifications.
Responsible for contribution to the development of possible options for
designing and deriving the best solutions based on sound analytical judgment
with respect to security plans and organizations.
Analyzing requirements and propose technical security design and security
processes to clients.
Contributing to the development of plans for security implementation or
modification of existing systems.
Perform tasks efficiently and work together with team to ensure project
success.
Perform other duties as assigned.
III. Required Skills and Experience
At least six (6) years of verifiable experience performing technical security
control architecture and design; information security solution engineering;
security technology implementations; evaluating new security technologies.
At least five (5) years of experience in security technologies including, but
not limited to operating systems, networking, databases, directory services,
firewalls, encryption, web services and applying security principles based on
best practices and industry standards.
At least five (5) years of experience managing and monitoring critical
security infrastructure components including incident management and responses;
and advising and consulting with internal clients on operational issues
impacting security, including assistance on implementing solutions.
The Security Architect shall have a current Certified Information Systems
Security Professional (CISSP) certification, or equivalent.
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
CISSP certification requirement
IV. Desirable Skills and Experience
Understanding of HIPAA standards
Ability to develop plans for implementation.
Experience and/or familiarity with Enterprise Architecture (EA), Medicaid
Information Technology Architecture (MITA), and Medicaid Systems.
Experience working with Health and Human Service IT projects
CISSP certification requirement, additionally one or many of the following
preferred:
o CompTIA Security+
o CEH: Certified Ethical Hacker.
o GSEC: SANS GIAC Security Essentials.
o CISSP: Certified Information Systems Security Professional.
o CISM: Certified Information Security Manager.
