Title: IDMS DBA Location: Reston, VA Start Date: ASAP Duration: 6 months + MUST HAVE VERY GOOD LANGUAGE SKILLS! Project: Our client is a major IT solutions provider that has offices worldwide. They have just landed a major project with one of their clients and is in need of several resources. This position is for an IDMS (Integrated Database Management System) DBA Skills: At least 10 years + in a Mainframe environment, ideally with around half of that in a Senior/Lead DBA Capacity. Skilled in IDMS performance monitoring and tuning both across logical and physical database design. Responsibilities: *Responsible for all aspects of IDMS database administration. *Install, configure, and patch production and test database. *Monitor database availability and performance. *Investigate and resolve database integrity problems. *Logical and physical database definition. *Create and maintain segment, file, and area definitions. *Perform database restructures where required.
