We're fixing this (your way, actually) as part of the changes for IPsec to support SMF. I'm Bcc:ing the engineer in charge of those changes. I think he'll be showing up with code to review on OpenSolaris soon. There are other bugs with "oss-bite-size" in network/ipsec availble, however, and we'll be happy to sponsor those.
