<p><strong>In-Person Interview</strong><br></p>
<p>The Junior Telecom Engineer will collect the information for the request and 
then create a design of how that should look. The Engineer needs to be able to 
understand the customer's request and answer any questions if needed.</p>
<p>Information is entered into Asset Manager and a 'work ticket' is created.  
Then the design and information (requirements) are then sent to the team who 
actually programs the changes and arranges the tech's for setup.  <br></p>
<p><strong>Summary of Ideal Candidate:</strong></p>
<p>This can be a junior resource.  Might be a fit for a help desk or desktop 
tech.  The person should have a basic understanding of the different levels of 
fiber, switches and routers.  This person should understand the basics of TCIP 
and how LAN/WANs interact.  They may design (using Visio or similar tool) to 
diagram the phone, internet, IP protocols, LAN, and WAN.   Does not need to 
know how to execute the changes or process, but be able to draw it out.  
<br></p>
<p>This person can have basic knowledge of what is listed above and then can be 
trained by staff.  <br></p>
<p><strong>Position Requirements Breakdown:</strong></p>
<ul> <li>Assist with the plan, design, build, configure and commission 
telecommunications devices, networks and systems, such as; voice, Internet, 
data, microwave and telecommunications systems.  </li> <li>The resource will 
diagram how the components interconnect with equipment from different 
manufacturers, different service providers and different users</li> <li>This 
resource will collect the request’s information and create an operational 
design.  Information is entered into Asset Manager and a ‘work ticket’ is 
generated.  The design and information (requirements) is then passed to the 
team who arranges the tech’s to program the changes.</li> <li>Engineer(s) shall 
have knowledge of communications network structure and design parameters 
comparable to current   ICN network..</li> <li>Engineer(s) shall possess 
excellent customer services skills to communicate effectively with internal and 
external   customers about proper location of equipment and desired 
services.</li> <li>Engineer(s) shall possess superior soft skills including the 
ability to work with clients, work on a team, and adapt to   existing ICN 
processes.</li> <li>Engineer(s)  shall have the ability to complete assignments 
timely and submit weekly status reports indicating progress   on assigned 
tasks, to meet assigned project due dates, and to identify and suggest 
resolutions for issues having a   potential to adversely impact performance 
and/or the project.</li> <li>Engineer(s) shall maintain a positive working 
relationship with all levels of ICN staff, as well as present a positive 
team-oriented attitude and customer focus. </li> <li>Engineer(s) shall adhere 
to all work rules and processes provided by the ICN project manager.</li> 
<li>Engineer(s) shall be able to produce written and verbal English language 
instructions.</li> <li>Engineer(s) shall understand the written and verbal 
English language, presentation materials, documentation,   requirement 
statements, problem descriptions and other forms of communication for 
interaction with team members and   managers.</li> </ul>
