 Configuration Management/Data Lead will be main player on the WTW ITSM
team with the key role of managing the day to day activities for the
enterprise IT Configuration Management process. Objectives include setting
up the IT CMDB, expanding use of the CMDB into other IT processes, aid in
establishing a Configuration Management process, and establishing
relationships with CI owners to enforce the process. This person will
concentrate focus on Configuration management but will also be involved in
other aspects of the ITSM processes at WTW such as Asset, Change,
Availability, and Incident management. The primary responsibility will be
setting up and maintaining the CMDB within ServiceNow.



*Essential Duties and Responsibilities*



   - Establish process to identify and load CI’s into the CMDB
   - Help identify and add new CI types


   - Perform CMDB audits


   - Work with CI Owners to help  maintain their data


   - Validate Discovery Data before committing to CMDB


   - Validate Relationships and Mapping Data before committing to CMDB


   - Resolve CI Conflicts and Duplicates before committing to CMDB


   - Build and maintain CI relationships within the CMDB


   - Work with CI Owners to identify and understand CI relationships


   - Use and administer the CI Discovery tool/solution that will feed into
   ServiceNow


   - Use and administer the Service Mapping tool/solution that will feed
   into ServiceNow


   - Implement Discovery Services to feed into ServiceNow for CMDB


   - Work with CI owners to implement any scripts required to feed CMDB or
   enable Discovery services


   - Work with ServiceNow administrator to implement any scripts required
   to process data feeds and update the CMDB


   - Maintain process document


   - Report on metrics around Configuration Management


   - Participate in the Enterprise Change Advisory Board


   - Identify, analyze, prepare risk mitigation tactics


   - Identify and manage anticipated resistance


   - Consult with and coach teams, managers and leaders


   - Support communication and training efforts


   - Support and engage senior leaders


   - Support organizational design and definition of roles and
   responsibilities


   - Track and report issues

*Position Qualifications*

   - Experience and knowledge of ITMS in particular the Configuration
   management principles, methodologies and tools.
   - Understanding of data models, and data relationships, especially as
   they relate to Configuration Management and the CMDB
   - High level understanding of data center infrastructure and corporate
   desktop environments
   - Familiarity of Data Center Operations – keeping services running and
   restoring quickly when they fail. Understanding how Configuration
   Management interfaces to those processes.
   - Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal
   - Problem solving and root cause identification skills
   - Organized with a natural inclination for planning strategy and tactics
   - Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships at all levels
   in an organization
   - Must be able to work collaboratively with and through others



*Education/Experience/Job Environment*

   - Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience required
   - 5+ years of experience
   - ITIL v3 Foundations Certificate
   - Configuration & Asset Management Experience
