DAILY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the general supervision of the Deputy Director of Administration, this position has the responsibility of directing the planning, development, design and operation of the agency’s application information systems. Serves as the Project Manager and is responsible for the management and coordination of all tasks associated with all software evelopment projects. Directs the activities of application analysts, database administrators and programmers in delivery of all systems and services for which the Information Resource Management (IRM) applications staff is responsible and accountable. Assigns tasks, assists with problem resolution and provides training and retraining for IRM applications staff. Oversees the development of detailed project work plans and schedules and reviews the progress and status of work projects. Manages the day-to-day functions and operational aspects of all projects in this area. Collaborates with departments within the agency to meet the technology and information services needs in support of the agency’s mission, prepares reports and advises agency management on findings and recommendations. Recommends and participates in the acquisition of vendor/contract supplied technology resources and services. Develops and manages contractual agreements with vendors.
