Application Developer* resource to join their organization. I have

Duration: 12+ months
Location: Horsham, PA
*Job Responsibilities: *
Candidate will be part of 7-8 member development team that works as a
unit. Engaging in paired programming, test driven development while
adhering to SCRUM methodology.
*What are the top 5-10 responsibilities for this position *
• Develop code using modern approaches to software development
• Design reusable components, frameworks and libraries
• Develop reusable patterns and encourage innovation that will enable team
velocity
• Design and develop innovative solutions to meet the needs of the business
• Design and implement product features in collaboration with business and
IT stakeholders
• Work very closely with architecture groups and drive solutions
• Bring innovative ideas to help continuously improve the COMPAS platform
including the build, deploy, test and runtime cloud ecosystems
• Lead Agile/Scrum methodology to deliver high-quality software releases
every 2 weeks through Sprints
• Perform all phases of software engineering including requirements
analysis, application design, code development and testing
• Review code and provide feedback relative to best practices and improving
performance
• Designs, codes, tests, debug, and documents software, and enhance
existing components to ensure that software meets business needs
• Collaborate on the design with other team members and product owners,
both inside and outside the scrum team
• Estimate engineering work effort for engineering team and effectively
identify and prioritize the high impact tasks
• Conduct design and code reviews to ensure code developed meets coding
best practices guidelines, unit testing, security, and scalability and
maintainability guidelines
• Drive a quality mindset within the team
• Solid technical skills and background needed to support the oversight of
development and management of complex multi-platform environments.
*What software tools/skills are needed to perform these daily
responsibilities? *
Java/J2EE, Websphere, Oracle, PL/SQL, SOAP/REST Webservices, JSP,
JavaScript, Shell Scripting, RSA, Toad, Spring, Struts, MQ, JUnit, EJB,
Java Messaging, Maven
What skills/attributes are a must have?
• BS Degree in Computer Science or related experience
• 6+ years of experience in IT Application Development
• 6+ years of strong hand-on experience with Java Enterprise Edition
(Java/J2EE) and web technologies
o Spring, WebSphere, JBoss, service-oriented architectures (SOA),
RESTful Web Services, HTML, Java Server Pages (JSPs), Servlets, jQuery,
extJS,
Enterprise Java Beans (EJBs), design patterns such as MVC,
Command, Session Façade, DAO, WebSphere MQ, *QueueManager, Queues
configurations, troubleshooting Message latency and failover
• 4+ years of experience with SPRING frameworks, Rational Software
Architect is required
• 6+ Experience with automated unit testing technologies (Such as JUnit,
Spock, or similar)
• 6+ Experience with mock data frameworks for unit testing
• 3+ Experience specifying, designing and developing web service
applications
• Knowledge of LDAP and authentication/authorization configuration
strategies required
• Demonstrated success in building design patterns and software engineering
best practices
• Experience with XML/JSON and developing SOAP and REST services using
Apache CXF or a comparable framework, EJB, Java Messaging , Maven, Groovy
• Knowledge of web security, application security, web services security,
common vulnerability remediation, certificate management and use
• Strong knowledge of programming and software engineering knowledge; OO
Design Principles, core OOPS, JEE Design patterns as well as their
implementation in real world applications
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong
interpretive skills, as well as the ability to effectively present,
negotiate, influence, and build consensus
What skills/attributes are nice to have?
• Solid experience with all aspects of web and distributed application
development
• Hands- on Experience with Continuous Integration and Deployment
Strategies
• Proven experience to automate build/deploy/release process and find ways
to automate and improve our pipeline at every step
• Solid background in applications development methodologies, SDLC, Agile
Methodology: SCRUM and other IT industry standards
• Experience in leading projects requiring application re-engineering,
modernization / refactoring legacy code base to modernize technology,
componentizing and segmenting code base for independent deployments
• Experience in test first development and pair programming
• Experience with XML/JSON and developing SOAP and REST services using
Apache CXF or a comparable framework, EJB, Java Messaging , Maven, Groovy
• Knowledge of Spring and/or Rails frameworks a plus
• Experience deploying to Cloud environments a plus
• Strong communication skills and interest in a pair-programming
environment
• Passion for growing your skills, tackling interesting work and
challenging problems
• Experience translating business requirements into value-added,
high-performing technical solutions in the health care sector
• Previous experience leading a team of Java developers
• Extremely organized with a strong sense of priority, urgency, and

• Excellent analytical and creative problem solving skills
• Experience with commercial software development and/or healthcare
industry experience
