This role will focus on *automating processes within network operations,* requiring a strong foundation in networking and cloud technologies. The ideal candidate will have excellent soft skills, be a team player, and possess the ability to pass a clearance. *Key Responsibilities*: - Automate network operations processes, including the rollout of upgrades to Meraki switches, monitoring and alerting systems, and integration of Aruba APs into SolarWinds. - Develop automation solutions for SDWAN IONs, including automating ServiceNow ticket creation and resolution. - Collaborate with the cloud team to automate firewall rule requests, ensuring efficient and accurate rule implementation. - Support infrastructure for federal and state government programs, including FSA, CDC, and veteran evaluation services. *Key Technologies they use*: - *Networking*: Aruba Wireless, Palo Alto SDWAN IONS, Palo Alto Firewalls, NGFW, Cisco (including VPN IPSEC tunnels and Meraki), SolarWinds. - *Automation*: Ansible, Python, Rundeck, Codeshuttle, terraform - *Cloud*: AWS (primary), Azure (building out), Google Cloud Platform (GCP). *Qualifications*: - Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals and cloud technologies. - Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Python, and Rundeck. - Ability to work remotely and collaborate with a distributed team. - Must be able to pass a public trust clearance (6C), with the potential for a secret clearance in the future. *Desired Attributes*: - Motivation and capability to learn and adapt to new technologies. - Excellent soft skills, including transparency, honesty, and teamwork. - A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement. - Preference for candidates with cloud experience and knowledge of AWS, Azure, and GCP. *Team and Culture*: - Work closely with a team of 3 automation engineers. - Be part of a supportive and collaborative environment that values diversity and inclusion. *Projects*: - Automate the rollout of Meraki switches and monitoring systems. - Integrate Aruba APs into SolarWinds for tracking. - Develop automation solutions for SDWAN IONs and firewall rule requests. *Additional Information*: - the hiring manager, recently took over the automation team and is looking for candidates who can bring fresh ideas and energy to the team. - The role supports critical infrastructure for federal and state government programs, ensuring the smooth operation of essential services.
