*Job Description:*



The Security Coordinator role requires the ability to develop and manage
process and procedures involved in assigning role based access to clinical
users. A thorough understanding of the EMP and SER databases. A minimum of
three (5) year of previous experience managing or developing processes for
a larger number of users is required. The ability to effectively work cross
functionally to obtain critical information is needed. This position
requires an understanding of how Epic applications integrate and how
multiple applications use the same data items. Position requires an
understanding of Peoplesoft HR , Active Directory and Mdstaff applications
and its’ impact on Epic Provider and user databases. A minimum of five (5)
years of experience in pre and post Resident Go Live activities. Must be
able to create SER Provider Blueprints. This position requires demonstrated
skill in customer service, the ability to clearly communicate both written
and verbally, listening skills to learn and better assign roles to job
functions and the inclination to document and explain process and
procedures. Previous experience in healthcare is preferred; familiarity
with clinical roles is very helpful.





General tasks and responsibilities will include:



• The Security Coordinator will guide Application Support Analysts who will
assist in the mechanics of the security assignments.

• The Security Coordinator will establish ownership of each security class
defined by the security workgroup, ensure access is limited to authorized
users and ensure authorized users have access to only that which is
necessary to perform their job function.

• With assistance from the Application Support Analysts the Security
Coordinator will map users to specific security templates.

• The Security Coordinator creates processes to grant access to new
employees, remove access from terminated employees and modify access when
job roles change. These procedures should include steps by which users can
receive login authorization, passwords, and training on proper system
security.

• The Security Coordinator will develop procedures to establish new
security roles, to include a review and approval process for the requested
modification.

• The Security Coordinator will work closely with technical teams and
applications analysts to develop a firm understanding of infrastructure
security and templates and will possess or develop a working knowledge of
clinical roles to better match security templates with clinical job
functions.

• The Security Coordinator will map key data elements to the Provider
Records based on provider types

• The Security Coordinator will be required to run daily, weekly and
monthly audit reports

• The Security Coordinator will be required to process incoming and
outgoing files pertaining to both EMP and SER databases

• The Security Coordinator will provide level 2 support for both Epic and
non-Epic data security tickets.

• The Security Coordinator will also be asked to assist in other data
security activities as needed by the Data Security Manager.

• The Security Coordinator will need to be able to process large amount of
Provider and user data accurately and in a specified length of time.

Minimum Qualifications: Under varying levels of direction and expertise, is
responsible for the on-going assessment, design, and development and
implementation of corporate –wide clinical systems. Specifically, collect
and transform large quantities of information into meaningful business
requirements; develop and modify requirements documentation for the design
and implementation of clinical information systems; critically evaluate
information from various sources, distinguish user needs from actual
business needs and partner with business users, project managers,
programmers, consultants and IT leadership in optimizing the scope,
benefits and risks of actual and proposed projects as well as assist in
managing stakeholder expectations.

Clinical Documentation, Stork OB, Inpatient Orders, Infection Control, Long
Term Care/ Rehabilitation, Beacon Oncology, OpTime Peri-Operative,
Anesthesia, Radiant Radiology, Cupid Cardiology, Laboratory, Willow
Pharmacy, ASAP Emergency Department, Care Management and EpicCare
Ambulatory, MyChart, EpicCare Link, Kaleidoscope Ophthalmology, HOD, and
HomeHealth.





General Tasks and Responsibilities Will Include:

• Analyze and document business requirements and processes; communicate
requirements to technical personnel through the construction of basic
conceptual data, process models and flowcharts, and technical
specifications.

• Interview end users, stakeholders, and project sponsors in order to
assess business and clinical needs; create business, functional and
technical requirements documents based on captured data and in accordance
with departmental protocol/standards.

• Convert information gathered into details including data sources, data
and user types, interface components, interface navigation needs, reporting
needs, and administrative system needs.

• Define external interfaces, constraints, quality issues and other
non-functional requirements.

• Provide project management team with identified risks, concerns, and
ambiguities discovered during the gathering of requirements; assist team in
developing solutions.

• Partner with project managers to complete requirements documentation in
accordance with project schedule.

• Plan, organize, facilitate, and lead meetings and workgroups as well as
oversee and execute follow-up activities.

• Ensure software development team accounts for all defined requirements in
coordination with quality assurance team. Ensure that all quality standards
comply with internal policies and industry standards.

• Document changes to baseline requirements through standard change control
process. Document software test plans, technical requirements, release
notes, user and training guidelines and other materials.

• Plan, coordinate, and support unit acceptance testing and subsequent
deployments in coordination with other team leaders.

• Perform end user and application support functions including problem
solving and resolution of application function defects

• Develop and execute project presentations.

• Participate in special projects as required.

• Provide training to and serve as a mentor for Junior Clinical Business
Analysts and/or other appropriate project team members; manage and evaluate
work products for assigned team members.

• Lead the training, development, and implementation of process
improvements for all projects and applications.

• Identify opportunities for process improvements and provide analysis and
propose change and communicate strategies.

• Provide supervision and direction to junior clinical business analysts,
clinical business analysts assigned at Levels I and II, consultants, and/or
other appropriate project team members.

• Interview Junior Clinical Business Analysts, Clinical Business Analysts
assigned at Level I and II, consultants, and/or other appropriate project
team members.

• Due to the responsibilities of your position, you will be required to
work beyond your regularly scheduled hours.

• This role is approximately 80% remote and up to 20% on-site.

• The selected candidate must be able to come into the office to perform
required work within 48 hours.

Preferred Qualifications for The Job:





Certification(S)/Nys License(S):

• Specialty certification(s) issued by a national commercially available
program, state, professional society, academic or technical institution in
an area(s) listed above, may be credited on a month-to-month basis toward
the required work experience for a total of one year

• Epic Certification

Other Preferred Skills:

• Clinical Background (preferred)

• At least 2 full life-cycle implementations (preferred)

Educational Level:

• A Master’s Degree or advanced clinical degree from an accredited college
or university and two years of experience serving as a lead in soliciting,
defining, and managing requirements for internally and externally developed
software in a clinical, allied health, non-allied health, behavioral
health, information technology, information services, business, analytics
or related area: or, one year of experience in a relevant clinical and/or
healthcare administration role/function; or

• A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university and five
years of experience as described above; or

• A satisfactory combination of education, training, and experience.

Years of Experience:

• 2-5 years’ experience with Epic EMR and/or other clinical applications.
