[1]Re: G4/400 and Retrospect 6/16/2000 I will be on vacation till 7/5/2000. If you need immediate assistance, call Help Desk at 6688. -------------------------------------- Date: 6/15/2000 4:30 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] From: Matthew Tevenan Rob, Retrospect supports backup to devices on interfaces other than SCSI. This is usually done with a software component that is installed when you install the drive's accompanying software. This component makes the drive appear as a SCSI drive, which is strictly-speaking the only interface Retrospect will recognize. The best resource for all current Retrospect-supported devices is the compatibility list, at <http://www.dantz.com/index.php3?SCREEN=compatibility_list> If you have any questions about these, or about pending support for devices, please contact Dantz Technical Support, at 925.253.3050 or [EMAIL PROTECTED] Regards, Matthew Tevenan Technical Support Specialist Dantz Development Corporation 925.253.3050 [EMAIL PROTECTED] > From: "Rob Lindsay" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Reply-To: "retro-talk" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Date: Thu, 15 Jun 2000 22:00:56 +0300 > To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Subject: G4/400 and Retrospect > > I have a G4/400 with a 20Gb ATA-66 hard drive, an external Lacie Firewire > 20GB hard drive and am running under MacOS 9.0.4. > > My understanding of Retrospect is that the Mac versions are primarily > SCSI-focused and that the Windows versions recognise the non-SCSI drives > that many of the new G4 series Macs are fitted with. > > Does the Advanced Driver Kit or any of the Driver Updates address the > problem of non-SCSI Macs? > > Any help that you can give me would be much appreciated. > > Rob Lindsay > > > > -- > ---------------------------------------------------------- > To subscribe: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > To unsubscribe: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Archives: <http://list.working-dogs.com/lists/retro-talk/> > Problems?: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > -- ---------------------------------------------------------- To subscribe: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Archives: <http://list.working-dogs.com/lists/retro-talk/> Problems?: [EMAIL PROTECTED] RFC822 header ----------------------------------- Return-Path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from nsd.org (10.1.2.50) by pop2.nsd.org with ESMTP (Eudora Internet Mail Server 2.2.2); Thu, 15 Jun 2000 16:33:29 -0700 Received: from cgi.clearink.com (205.227.191.14) by nsd.org with SMTP (Eudora Internet Mail Server 2.2); Thu, 15 Jun 2000 16:33:31 -0700 Received: from dantz.com by cgi.clearink.com with SMTP; Thu, 15 Jun 2000 16:30:49 -0700 User-Agent: Microsoft-Outlook-Express-Macintosh-Edition/5.02.2022 Date: Thu, 15 Jun 2000 16:30:50 -0700 Subject: Re: G4/400 and Retrospect From: Matthew Tevenan <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: retro-talk <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> In-Reply-To: <023f01bfd6fc$26bebbc0$1bcba2d0@roblindsay> Mime-version: 1.0 Content-type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" Content-transfer-encoding: 7bit Reply-To: "retro-talk" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sender: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Precedence: Bulk List-Software: LetterRip Pro 3.0.7 by Fog City Software, Inc.
