New issue 1216 by nosaj.kasper: 100% CPU usage in Firefox in "Review"/"Edit
What version are you running?
Internal VMware version (1.0 rc3, iirc?).
What's the URL of the page containing the problem?
The "Review" or "Edit Review" page.
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Make some review comments
2. Click "Edit Review"
3. Observe Firefox 3.5 or 3.0.x use 100% CPU for a good long while while
it's trying to render the "Review" page. Switching to a different app and
switching back seems to anger it even more and makes the repainting take
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I'd expect to not have my CPU pegged while Firefox is trying to render the
Review page, but instead it is! It is so sad and makes me cry!
What operating system are you using? What browser?
Linux OpenSUSE 11.1, Firefox 3.5 (although this happens with 3.0.x too).
Please provide any additional information below.
I would rather have a cute little pony step on me or a narwhal give me a
dirty look than have to bring up Konqueror or Opera to make it through the
"Review"/"Edit Review" page.
Also, this may be related to either the length of time that Firefox has
been running (typically I leave it running for a day at a time +), or how
many tabs you have open (I typically keep ~ 15 tabs open at a time), or
some of the extensions that I have installed (I have:
Delicious Bookmarks 2.1.041,
Download Statusbar 0.9.6.5,
ErrorZilla Plus 0.6.2,
Evernote Web Clipper 126.96.36.199093,
Fast Dial 2.22b,
Hide Find Bar 1.3.1,
It's All Text 1.3.1,
Personal Menu 4.1.4,
Session Manager 0.6.6.2,
Tree Style Tab 0.7.2009070701,
Tube Stop 1.2.6,
and User Agent Switcher 0.7.2 installed and enabled). If I start a
fresh/empty session of Firefox, then this doesn't seem as noticeable.
