Yum would have it (trust me :) ), but earlier in the thread, he mentioned that he was on Ubuntu 12.04. I suspect that it may be named differently in Ubuntu. Given the "E: Package 'python-memcached' has no installation candidate", I suspect it was probably renamed to something like python2-memcached, but not all dependent packages were updated.
