Performance is largely limited to the capabilities of your hardware. 500+
users should be handled pretty easily. Once things start getting past
5-10000 users or so, you might want to consider splitting it up onto
multiple servers (separate database server, round-robin front-end servers,
etc.)

2.0.6 has a number of known bugs. I highly recommend upgrading to the
latest 2.0.x release.
