Patch Set 2:
impala-profile-tool was also recently in discussion during my sync, such as
improving the ease of use and providing options to decode in webUI.
The following would help with a smoother transition.
-> If required/possible, small cleanup and improvements to the profile tool.
-> Providing reference to impala-profile-tool docs in webUI
-> An option to download the version's associated binary(with dependencies, if
needed)
-> Later, supporting to decode impala profiles in webUI with backend.
With some of the ongoing and upcoming changes to the thrift, JSON and text
profiles.
The following maybe the possible obstacles -
-> Maintain compatibility for previous thrift profile formats
-> Identify profile tool versions that generated the text/json profile(during
escalations)
