Ok, so recoverFramework does not need the allocation options because the 
framework is inactive? Can you explain a bit about that change in the commit 
description?

    Hm.. not quite obvious that it's ok to pass empty allocation options here, 
perhaps just add a little bit of color about the invariants? (i.e. the
