It was my understanding that /dev/inotify had
gone away in favor of the inotify_init syscall.

I think it happened before the inotify patch got
merged into mainline.  Can anyone shed light on
this one?

Sorry if this has been discussed already, I'm
new to the list and my archive search didn't
turn anything up.  I haven't actually tried
installing yet, so this may just be an
announcement thinko.
