Hi , I got the latest RHEL5 beta with kernel 2.6.18
I have the following problems with the OS instalaltion I tried with RHEL5 x86-64(kernel 2.6.18).following issues were occuring regularly. Rameshwar also had similar problems with the x-86-64 OS .We have seen the same problems with the x-86 OS also. 1.During installation while selecting packages,it pops up with a dialog box asking to enter IP information If you click OK after entering information it will throw an exception and go for a reboot 2.After complete instalaltion, while rebooting it hangs with cross pointer mouse. 3.If you connect through a hyperterminal you can get a shell, from where'startx' will enable the GUI 4.After 4 to 5 restarts some times it comes up with the GUI with out any problem 5.Some times it comes up with a shell only, after logging in to the system running "startx" will enable the GUI to come up. With the RHEL5 beta PPC version, 1.Installation started only in textmode,it did not try to got to GUI mode of installation 2.After complete installation, while rebooting,OS panic occured. With RHEL5 IA64, 1.During installation while selecting packages,it pops up with a dialog box asking to enter IP information If you click OK after entering information it will throw an exception and go for a reboot 2.After complete instalaltion, while rebooting it hangs with cross pointer mouse Do any one faced similar issues Aneesh __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
