It's been done that way since RH converted from installation floppies to CDs, back around RHL 8 or 9. Those of us who follow Red Hat closely are used to using boot.iso (and now diskboot.img for USB keys). So maybe most of us do know it intuitively. Unfortunately, beta 1 (or test 1 for FC users) are almost by definition very poorly documented. Or perhaps other documentation stuff is higher priority now. Hopefully we'll see at least the normal progress once beta2 is release (which I hope will be soon after FC6 final is released).
