Hi all,
I have installed a laptop with RHEL5 Beta2 Server version.
Installation works ok, but I can not enter to gnome desktop. GDM works
ok, but when I try to login this message appears: Your session only
lasted less than 10 seconds ....blah ... blah. View details
xsession-errors file". But on xsession-errors file is empty.
Somebody knows how can I fix this??
Greetings,
Hard to say without additional details on what the problem might be.
Check your /var/log/Xorg.0.log. One suggestion might be changing your
session to just a Terminal ... then start gnome-session manually to see
where it fails. Alternatively, you may login to a virtual console
(tty1-tty6) and run startx.
These steps should give you a better sense for what and where something
might be failing.
Thanks,
James

Thanks james, but running on console via startx (using 'exec
gnome-session' on .xinitrc file) all works ok. On /var/log/Xorg.0.log
doesn't appears errors.
Gnome doesn't starts from GDM only.
