Hi there,

I've installed RHEL5 Server (32-bit) on a Dell PowerEdge 2500 with a PERC3/DC (none of which should matter, but hey, all the information you might want) and made sude (I thought) that I didn't install any virtualisation. Since then I've received one of these mails every two minutes:

[...]
Subject: Cron <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> python /usr/share/rhn/virtualization/poller.py

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/share/rhn/virtualization/poller.py", line 189, in ?
    domain_list = poll_hypervisor()
File "/usr/share/rhn/virtualization/poller.py", line 63, in poll_hypervisor
    conn = libvirt.open(None)
  File "/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/libvirt.py", line 39, in open
    if ret is None:raise libvirtError('virConnectOpen() failed')
libvirt.libvirtError: virConnectOpen() failed

Can anyone explain why there is a

/etc/cron.d/rhn-virtualization.cron

containing

0-59/2 * * * * root python /usr/share/rhn/virtualization/poller.py

When I didn't ask for any virtualisation to be installed? Apparently it comes from

rhn-virtualization-host-1.0.1-41

What dependency or other might that have caused that to be installed along with rhn-virtualization-common-1.0.1-41 when I didn't ask for virtualization? Also why was that error occuring anyway?

Thanks,

Ben
