Sorry, I tried this again, and although it was really difficult to achieve
due to the fact that I'm using a remote JavaConsole on a server that's
about 5000 miles away and the mouse movement is almost impossible in the
Virtual Machine Manager, I did manage to restart the guest vm from another
session using a sleep delay, and then managed to get the virtual console
opened quick enough to see some messages flying past before the "Setup is
starting Windows" msgs, and a repeated F5 (after grabbing the cursor of
course!) eventually worked!  I didn't  realise I'd have to do this at two
different stages in the build.

So, thanks for this adivce.  The install is now continuing fine.
