I've used SystemImager in the past with RHEL3 and RHEL4 to set up a
cluster. With RHEL5 and the latest version of SystemImager, things
aren't working very well. Getting an exact copy of the golden node
propagated to the other nodes is fragile at best. An initial install
seems to work but subsequent updates or even just a reboot of a node
causes things to go south. I'm not sure where the problem lies.

An example is the /etc/modprobe.conf file getting rewritten without the
ethernet aliases. When the node comes up, it has no network and might as
well not exist. I don't know if the problem is with system imager or
with RHEL5.

Anyone have any experiences with a similar setup?

Thanks,

tjb
