I’m trying to make it so that if a user has 3 unsuccessful login attempts in a row, the account locks. I had no problem doing this in WS4 but WS5 seems to ignore the PAM entries I put in. I used the following:

auth required /lib/security/$ISA/pam_tally.so onerr=fail
no_magic_root

account required /lib/security/$ISA/pam_tally.so per_user deny=3
no_magic_root reset

I also tried using faillog but after the set amount of attempts the account is
listed as ‘locked’ but I can still log in, any ideas on how to achieve an
automatic logout? I’d prefer to not install third party software but I am
willing to give it a try.
