One of the basic tenets of computers that I have held fast to is that computers do what they are told. My /etc/sysconfig/rhn/up2date file is telling it to use:
serverURL[comment]=Remote server URL serverURL=http://xmlrpc.rhn.redhat.com/XMLRPC which is not an ssl connection. I know that it is using the proxy because when I run yum update I have another console open running: watch "netstat -a|grep tcp" and I can see it going out to the proxy. Is there another file that yum sources for directives? Thanks for the reply.
