I did this before but perhaps missed the part that was unexpanded under
"Activate a subscription now".

I ran it again and put in the Installation Number and now get:

"The installation number you provided is valid but was already activated
and the subscriptions have already
been used by systems in your organization or is not usable for this
system.

Please try a different number or try another option listed on the
'Access a Subscription' screen."

The RHN website shows the system registered but not entitled and this is
the first time I've given the Installation Number from rhn_register.

I did delete the old profile from when the same machine name used to run
a (now expired) RHEL 4.

I've just deleted the profile and ran rhn_register again. It sends the
h/w and s/w info then an error message: "Your system is not setup for
software updates"

Doing it again shows a screen with the
3) Activate a new installation number at http://www.redhat.com/now/.

So I tried that and it said "Subscription registration number '... (my
Registration Number)' has already been registered."

There are a bunch of old systems shown on the RHN webpage, including one
which says it has management entitlement and shouldn't have (not that
this actually allows it to update) and a system we bought recently
though a third party which doesn't currently have RHEL on it.

So, if i can get updates available for an evaluation system how do I go
about doing that? Do I need to delete the other old systems first? Get
another copy? Do a reinstall?

Thanks again for your help,
Grant
