I had The EDAC problem on a brand new IBM with an AMD 64 bit processor.
When I installed RHEL 4.5, the installation went fine but when it
loading the OS for the first time (after the grub bootloader menu), it
froze with an EDAC K8 error.
When I installed RHEL 5.0, I didn't see the problem.

Thanks.

This was about one month ago and it didn't happen afterwards, so it's
not too bad, luckily.
