The update to perl-5.8.8-10.el5_0.2 fails on the x86_64 architecture due
to the fact that the perl.i386 package is not available from the
rhel-x86_64-client-5 channel (since both perl.i386 and perl.x86_64 are
installed). Does anyone know when this will be corrected? (Or a
reasonable workaround?)
I don't have a workaround for you (leaving out removing the i386
package, which should work since I have a few systems with just the
x86_64 version installed) but I've created a service request almost 24
hours ago. Got a "confirmed is an issue" shortly thereafter. So Red Hat
is aware of the problem, but why they haven't fixed it yet, I don't
know. Maybe they're busy pushing Update 1 out of the door (notice the
Beta channel doesn't contain any packages any more so I'd guess it will
be released soon).
Kind Regards,
Dirk
