Hello,
RHEL5.1 does not (yet) support running 32bit para-virt domUs on a 64bit
dom0 .
This feature was deferred from 5.1 due to a number of issues which had
been encountered during (beta) testing .
So is the web page at
http://www.redhat.com/rhel/virtualization/
Which states
"The ability to run 32-bit para-virtualized guests on x86-64 systems
running in 64-bit mode."
incorrect?
It is possible we might support 32bit PV on 64bit dom0 in 5.2 .
However you can today run a 32bit HVM/full-virt guest/domU on a 64bit dom0
and once we release the para-virt
drivers for HVM/full-virt domains you'll get similar performance with a
HVM/FV guest than you'd see running
a PV guest (there are a few differences in capabilities of a HVM/FV vs PV
guest such as CPU hotplug/Memory ballooning are only
supported in a PV guest, but other features such as live migration are
supported for both virtualization models) .

Hi
Has anyone managed to install a 32 bit PVT in a rhel5u1 64bit DomU
I have tried installing rhel4u5 and rhel5u1 and both fail shortly after
starting to install the packages, ie after all the anaconda
configuration and file formatting.
