Might try here:

My favorite distro is Red Hat too - only I actually run it (as opposed to
CentOS).

Subject: [rhelv5-list] Compiz and VMware

Hello Everyone,

I will quickly introduce myself, My name is Harry, I work as Systems
Administrator, I have been a Windows Sys Admin for the last 3 years and i I
have recently migrated to Linux, I have chosen Redhat as my favourite
distro. I don't have too much of experience in Linux i am slowly learning.
Sorry if you see me asking any silly questions :(

In a simple phrase I am a newbie..

My questions:

1)I recently installed Compiz using Yum on my desktop PC (CentOS) its
working beautiful. I was wondering if there is something similar to Ubuntu's
Compiz-setting-manager in Redhat I am trying to configure keys but i am
unable to do so without the setting manager.

2) Secondly I am trying to Install VMware server-free one on a CentOS
machine, I am unable to Install, i did all the googling and followed the
instruction but still cant install Vmware

Some of the changes i did to my machine are as follows

Installed gcc,c++,kernel-headers, kernel-devel, downloaded
vmwareupdate-any-any but no luck, , the installation goes well to certain
point i get stuck at this point where it is asking me for C header files

It asks me to specify C header files and I am unable to do so, even after
carefully following the instruction

Your help in highly regarded

Thanks in Advance

Cheers

Harry
