I tried it on the Dell 630 which has the same reader I believe. It only
works on authentication, not the screensaver.
Works on my own brand new ThinkPad T61 running Fedora 8, both for login
and unlocking the screen saver, as well as for using sudo. Doesn't work
for resuming for suspend though.

Hi all,
I have a Thinkpad T61 laptop with thinkfinger on it. To configure
fingerprint reader I see this project:
http://thinkfinger.sourceforge.net/.
Sombedody have try it?? works with gnome screensaver??? Exists some
rpm package for rhel 5.1 x86_64???
There are thinkfinger packages for fedora that could undoubtedly be
rebuilt for rhel5. Might be worth putting it on the EPEL wish list.

Thanks jarod. is it possible to compile src.rpm from Fedora 8 on RHEL 5.1??
yes, it's possible. I'm using thinkfinger built in that way. And it works with
gnome-screensaver.
my packages:
http://people.redhat.com/aarapov/redhat/el5/x86_64/thinkfinger-0.3-7.0.el5.x86_64.rpm
http://people.redhat.com/aarapov/redhat/el5/i386/thinkfinger-0.3-7.0.el5.i386.rpm
how to make it work in gnome-screensaver:

Cheers!
Many thanks Anton.
