Hi, the problem happens on a HP DL380 G5, with 2 BroadCom BCM5708 NICs. I have two domU on the same dom0, and I'm trying to test the network performance from one domU to the other, using netperf and the included tcp_stream_script.
Looking around, it seems to be a known problem, but no one seems to know the way to fix it, I have done the following: - updated the Broadcom firmware to 1.9.6 - disabled the managing interface (whatever it is) on both NICs as Citrix suggests - give 8M of memory window for TCP send and receive on dom0 by sysctl.conf - set txqueuelen of every interface on dom0 to 5000 kernel on dom0 and domU are the latest. As a result, now I have a throughput of 45 Mbps when the two domU (both on 192.168.122.0/24) are running the netperf TCP benchmark. The domU with the netperf server shows a lot of dropped packet and packet errors (this explains the very bad performances, as TCP slow down after a transmission error), the other domU and the dom0 show no problem at all. Has anyone a clue on how to fix it, or a working configuration for the same hardware? _______________________________________________ rhelv5-list mailing list [email protected] https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/rhelv5-list
