Have you tried getting the latest e1000 driver from Intel and compile and install it? http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?strState=LIVE&ProductID=838&DwnldID=9180&agr=Y&lang=eng You'll need kernel-devel, then it's a simple tar/make/make install and restart the network. This solved many problems for me.
