Is it me or are there a ton of non-security-related bugs fixed in the
new 53.1.14 errata released today? I'm glad to see it, to be honest,
but I'm wondering if folks are worried about updating to this kernel
considering the mix of security fixes and general bug fixes.
What, me worry?
Actually, I won't worry about this particular update until something
or someone provides reason to. But what does concern me is the sheer
volume and frequency of kernel updates for RHEL5. I count 13 or 14,
over the year that RHEL5 has been out. I don't remember that 3 or 4
were ever like this. I don't think a Fedora install on a home system
has seen as many kernel updates. Have we just been lucky, with
better than average numbers of vulnerabilities found and fixed, or
does RedHat have a new policy for releasing kernel updates for RHEL?
