We're using RHEL5 from April 2007, but only now we have notice that Kernel-PAE isn't a natural substitute of the Kernel Hugemem... Infact seems that is impossible to have more than ~800MB for Kernel Mode... well we have developed a Kernel Application that sometimes reach and pass this value. How is possibile in 32 bit architecture "workaround" this problem and have more than 1GB of lower memory, without change distribution our to upgrade to 64bit architecture?
Maybe it's possible to recompile Kernel-Pae?
I hope is possible!
Thank in advance for help!

Hugemem is gone in RHEL 5. The RHEL 5 kernel is more efficient with page tables, so the PAE kernel scales higher than the RHEL 3 and RHEL 4 32-bit SMP kernels, but if you want lots of lowmem, you need to go to 64-bit.
