We literally spent months trying to have an active/passive working
with RHEL 4.0, finally we upgrade the firmware to 7.0 (active/active)
and now we have multipath.

Take into account that, against everything that HP could say about
that, you need an external SAN switch to have a multipath working with
an active/passive configuration, because otherwise there is no one
else that would fire up the passive controller, should the active
failed. (this is exactly what the Red Hat competency center of Milan
told me, so it's not only my experience).

because HP does not care really about Linux, and they have no hurry.
