Hello,

Has anybody else noticed that native (as in the RH supplied drivers)
Infiniband performance is markedly worse off in RHEL 5.x than it was
in RHEL 4.x?

I've been trying the latest OFED drivers (1.3) from OpenFabrics, but
have also found them to be pretty dismal. We're mounting a disk over
the Infiniband we're not seeing much performance above 150MB/s read
and 250MB/s write. When the disk is directly connected via SAS, we're
seeing nearly 395MB/s write and 500MB/s read, which we expect from the
kit that we're using. I've tried using the latest SRPT code and that
doesn't seem to make much difference. We're using Mellanox
InfiniHost III Ex cards at both ends of the connection. The openib
tools report that the connection is active and that it's running at
20Gb/s.

Does anybody have any suggestions as to squeezing more performance out
of RHEL for Infiniband? Are we likely to see improvements for RHEL
5.2?

Regards,

Martyn
