Well, that is interesting... As it turned out, I also ended up which in
inconsistent RPM db. I had 20 or 30 packages that RPM says were not
installed, yet all the files were there. I ran an 'rpm --rebuilddb' with
no change. I was able to reinstall them all and now things are ok, I
think.
