After upgrading to RHEL 5.2 on one of my systems, I now see errors from 'virsh list'.

[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]$ virsh list
libvir: Xen Daemon error : internal error failed to connect to xend
libvir: Xen Daemon error : internal error failed to connect to xend
Id Name State
----------------------------------
 0 Domain-0 running
 5 c5s4 blocked

[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]$

If I change the permissions on /var/lib/xend to allow go+rx and /var/lib/xend to allow go+w then it works without errors again but this is a change from RHEL 5.1 where that directory and socket have the same permissions as the broken system did before my change (like this):

works on RHEL5.1
[EMAIL PROTECTED] xen]# ls -al /var/lib/xend
total 12
drwx------ 2 root root 4096 Jun 3 11:45 .
drwxr-xr-x 23 root root 4096 Jun 13 16:13 ..
srwxr-xr-x 1 root root 0 Jun 3 11:45 relocation-socket
srwxr-xr-x 1 root root 0 Jun 3 11:45 xend-socket

needs to be this one RHEL 5.2 to work
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]# ls -la /var/lib/xend
total 12
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Jun 3 11:45 .
drwxr-xr-x 23 root root 4096 May 27 22:35 ..
srwxr-xr-x 1 root root 0 Jun 3 11:45 relocation-socket
srwxrwxrwx 1 root root 0 Jun 3 11:45 xend-socket
