The NIC should be fine with 5.2; I think support for it came in with
5.1. The graphics should be OK-ish -- better support came along in
Fedora 8, but, for me that was mostly to do with support for my
1680x1050 screen.
I would have been worried about the SATA controller as well, but it's
fine under RHEL 5.2.
PS: Why doesn't redhat have an HCL of "components" i.e. cards that
work with rhel, instead of just complete systems that are rhel certified !
Hmmm. Well, supporting a gigabit nic is one thing, but it does that
mean that you'd get gigabit transfer rates in this ancient optiplex 240
I have here (looks under desk)? Would it even work on that ancient
chipset? I don't know.
